We offer a range of upscale homes and apartments across Puerto Rico, each featuring modern design and premium amenities tailored for comfort and style.
Which amenities are included with the rentals?
All properties come equipped with essentials such as high-speed Wi-Fi, fully stocked kitchens, air conditioning, iron & ironing board, hair dryer, bath towels, beach towels, and many properties also include beach chairs, coolers and umbrellas.
How do I make a booking?
Bookings can be completed online through our secure platform by selecting your dates, property, and providing payment details. Confirmation is sent immediately after. We use Stripe as our payment processor.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations made at least 14 days before check-in receive a full refund. Later cancellations may incur fees depending on the timing and property terms. To safequard yourself from last minute changes in your plans, we highly recommend a travel insurance. Be advised, cancellation policies may differ between booking sites like Airbnb and VRBO.
Are pets allowed in the rentals?
Some properties are pet-friendly with prior approval. Please check the specific listing details or contact us to confirm pet policies before booking. If you are bringing a service animal, please let us know ahead of time, and provide documentation.
Why should I book with Isla Vacation?
We have over 10 years of experience in managing vacation rental homes. We use feedback from previous guests to ensure the best experience for our future guests. In the event something does not go as planned, be assured we are available to correct the issue as quickly as possible. If you book directly through us, and not one of our partner listings (Airbnb, VRBO, etc.), you will save more by not paying the higher fees charged by the platforms!
Do you give discounts for longer stays?
Yes, we offer a discount for stays of 7 nights or more, and an even deeper discount for stays over 1 month. In most cases the discounts apply automatically when you select the appropriate number of nights.
When is the best time to visit Puerto Rico?
The 'high season' runs from December through May but in my personal opinion, there is no bad time to visit Puerto Rico. Summer and Fall are great times to visit if you want to avoid the tourist crowds of the high season. In terms of weather, summer is only slightly warmer than the rest of the year and you can always beat the heat at one of our world class beaches.
Hurricane Season runs from June through November. Historically, catastrophic storms are rare, and have historically occured in the fall months.
Do you allow parties and extra guests?
Our homes are located in neighborhoods and out of respect for our working neighbors, we do not allow parties. Nor do we allow noise and amplified music outdoors after 10 PM. We have no problem with inviting a reasonable number of guests during the day to enjoy the property. Please reach out to us first so we can let you know the maximum number of day time guests for each home.
Any unapproved guests will be subject to additional guest charges.
What is the best airport to fly into?
SJU is the main airport in San Juan. You will generally find the most flight options in and out of this airport. It is also the closest airport to our rental properties.
If you are booking a stay in Rincón, you could also consider flying into Aguadilla, BQN
What toiletries do you stock your homes with?
Our homes are stocked with a starter supply of at least 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom and paper towels, shampoo, body wash, sunscreen, insect repellant and a wide variety of spices and cooking oil in the kitchen. We will also provide at starter supply of coffee along with an assortment of creamers and sweeteners. If there something special you want available at check-in, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you!
Do I have to worry about power or water outages?
We have done everything in our 'power' to ensure protection from the many utility outages experienced on the island. Where possible, our homes have a back-up power source, either solar panels and batteries, or generators. We also have backup water sources to ensure a comfortable stay. For the apartments that do not have these amenities, we will work with you to ensure you remain comfortable during an outage, and keep you updated with the progress.
What happens in the event of a natural disaster?
In the unlikely event of a tropical storm, hurricane or earthquake, we will be in constant communication to work with you to determine the best and safest course of action. This could include providing additional supplies and adding hurricane shutters to add a level of protection for you and your guests. Don't forget, many of our homes do have back-up power and water supplies to ensure a comfortable stay even during natural disasters.
Do I need a passport to travel to Puerto Rico?
Passports are not required for US citizens to travel to Puerto Rico as it is a territory of the United States of America. If you are not a citizen of the United States, you will need a passport to visit.
Do I have to pay a tax?
Yes, the government of Puerto Rico imposes a tax on all lodging. The good news is that the tax rate is only 7% for vacation rental homes. It is 9-11% for other hotels and resorts.
